Observed wholesale data is separate from a care provider's contracted tariff. We publish no live forward quotation or invented forecast. A scenario entered in our tools is illustrative. Divide £/MWh by ten for p/kWh; that conversion adds no network, supplier, tax or other retail charge.
UTC dates contain 48 half-hours throughout the year; they differ from local settlement-day conventions at the clock change. Zero and negative prices are retained; zero-volume observations are excluded. September has four missing intervals. Monthly means use every available interval and partial periods remain labelled.
Recent prices refresh when this desk opens. The dated editorial interpretation is reviewed separately. A failed refresh retains the archive's source timestamp. Historical observations were carried across from the established shared Elexon archive; this care programme was published on 19 October.

Editorial interpretation · 19 October 2026
The observed APXMIDP average rose from £129.51/MWh for 5–11 October to £163.42/MWh for 12–18 October. Both are complete UTC weeks. The 26.2% change strengthens the case for checking contractual exposure and avoidable demand.
It does not establish a corresponding change to a home's bill, a renewal quotation or the path of prices through winter. October's £146.43/MWh average covers 1–18 October; it is a partial-month observation.

Existing published milestones and a publication watch are distinguished. This review found no new confirmed care-specific price trajectory or universal energy-upgrade entitlement. Do not advance a policy claim because the market refreshes.

Reconcile bills, identify renewals and compare quotations on one cost boundary. Check qualifying electricity VAT separately from energy quantities.
Review the October invoice ↗Investigate unexplained demand, operating settings and unresolved faults through the home's safety arrangements. Record comfort alongside consumption.
Review lighting and controls ↗Ask which costs are exposed, which actions are verified and what evidence is needed before capital approval. Review the result through the seasons.
Set the performance review ↗The index is electricity only. Gas prices, wider utilities and a provider's actual tariff need separate records. No paid data subscription is needed to use this desk.
